The MITA Ontario Apprentice Training Program held their annual BBQ event but with a nice surprise! Masonry instructor Mr. G (Gonzalez) and MITA Board Member Art Ramirez with Ramirez Masonry handed out plaques to nine apprentices who just journeyed out of the program. The apprentices and community students prepared hot dogs, hamburgers, and hot links, along with salads and desserts. In talking with the apprentices, all were thankful for the program, some saying it was life changing, and one said that the knowledge he gained, along with learning the skill, was valuable. Knowing what to do, not just doing it, helped him on the job sites. Their commitment and dedication over the 3 1/2 years of the program is exemplary – a goal met and well deserved.
