Events

MITA is working to plan events to raise awareness of the masonry trade, create opportunities for our members to network with one another, and raise funds to help us continue providing training and outreach programs to future masons.

Annually we host our Golf Classic held at the Victoria Country Club.  Golfers, sponsors and raffle prize donors are needed.  MITA hosts an Apprentice Masonry Skills Challenge in October to win a place in the Annual MCAA World of Concrete in Las Vegas.  We also host a Summer Bootcamp with High School Students.

Speaker’s Bureau – If you would like to volunteer for our Speaker’s Bureau and share your work experience with high school students, email us today!

These events are held at area high schools and consist of a presentation on masonry history and jobs, and whenever possible a hands-on demonstration. MITA is looking for masons willing to be speakers.  We would then coordinate a speaker to a school site that is near to the speaker’s home or work.  The more masons we have on board, the more presentations we can do, and the more students we can reach!!  For more information, contact Bonnie at bonnie@trainmason.org.
