MITA kicked off our apprentice classes for Fall of 2023 on Monday.  We now have three class sites:  Ontario, Escondido and Val Verde.  We are pleased to partner with Chaffey, Escondido and Val Verde Adult Schools to offer a “Basic Block Masonry” class to the community which is held at the same time as apprentice classes.  Instructor Miguel Gonzalez teaches the Ontario night class at Ontario High School.  He also teaches in the high school offering a masonry construction class to students during the school day.  Instructor Patrick Justus teaches the Escondido and Val Verde night classes.  Both are graduates of the MITA apprentice program and journeyman masons.  The benefits of the partnerships are to both of us.  The adult schools benefit by being able to offer a CTE construction class to the community.  MITA benefits from having a pool of community students who may become apprentices in the program.
