MITA Graduates 3rd Class with CFLC

MITA continues to work with the California Family Life Center (CFLC) in Rubidoux and Lake Elsinore.  Three classes of students have now gone through the program to receive an “Introduction to Masonry”.  These classes run 10 weeks for a total of 60 hours.  At the end they are eligible to enter the MITA Apprentice program.  Classes cover safety, hand and power tools, construction drawings, mortar mixing and much more.  They spend half of the class in lecture and half in the lab doing hands-on activities.  We hope to continue this project alternating between the two sites.

The students also do a field trip during their class session.  In Rubidoux they get the opportunity to tour the ORCO Block plant, and in Lake Elsinore they visited with IQ Power Tools.  Thank you to both companies for supporting masonry outreach and our students.
