Our second bootcamp kicked off on July 8th in Escondido. 20 enrolled and 17 made it to the first day and finished 60 hours later on 7/19/24. All of the students were outstanding. Sebastian turned in his apprentice application on the first day of camp, and Nicholas hopes to join up in a few weeks when he turns 18. Instructor Justus praised Jane who had a perfect plumb the first time – he said he has never seen that happen. Mel enjoyed the class and hopes to go home with a kitten from the feral mom who lives at Escondido Adult School. They also enjoyed a tour of the ORCO plant in Carlsbad. The students were all from different high schools quite a few of them in Escondido Unified. We were honored to have the Superintendent of the Escondido Unified School District join us along with the Principal of Escondido Adult School to help our board members Dan Ricketts and Tom Coyne with the certificate presentations.
