It takes speed, skill, and teamwork! One of MITA’s first graduates
[let’s just say a ‘few’ years back] Howard Cole shows it all laying 115 block in 20-minutes to build a 30 foot wall at Fastest Trowel on the Block at World of Concrete in Las Vegas. See Howard in action here> Howard Cole at Fastest Trowel Video. MCAA’s Tim O’Toole has the whole story here> http://www.masoncontractors.org/2015/02/12/armenta-named-2015-fastest-trowel. The National Concrete Masonry Association sponsors it. You can see the whole 20 minutes video and sound at FastestTrowel.com. The winner laid 119 block and had the highest scores in craftsmanship. He took home $8,000 prize money, the trophy, and a shiny new reputation as two-time champion [winning 2015 and 2013]. Winner mason Arcadio Armenta and tender Guadalupe Aragon work with Sutter Masonry, Inc. of El Mirage, Arizona. Sutter Masonry scored 2nd place too, with mason Alvaro Landaverde and tender Heriberto Salazar.
