Your MITA apprentices represented the best of California at World of Concrete having won the state Regionals. 1st year Anthony Gomez, and 2nd year Cristian Lopez, took on the 3 hour timed challenge. Competing with apprentices from around the U.S. Feeling the pressure with Judges watching. And media cameras on you. Thanks to MCA-CA.org for their registration. Who’s the Fastest Trowel?

They call it & the toughest 20 minutes in masonry and MITA had 2 teams compete at World of Concrete. Representing the best in the State of California (again!) were MITA Journeymen Howard Cole mason and Martin Avendano tender. Journeymen Richie King mason and Miguel Gonzales tender represented too! This years crowd was the BIGGEST EVER! But it was Arizona masons who took home the title. Yes, plumb counts! See your MITA journeymen in action in their video here.

Who’s the Best Bricklayer?

It’s called the super bowl of masonry,when world-class masons compete at the SPEC MIX 500 World Championship. Can you lay 698 perfectly-placed brick with ZERO deductions in just 60 minutes? The 2018 “Worlds Best Bricklayer” David Chavez of Ranch Masonry in Texas did! Also making history as the first female contestant ever, Sheree Canham came all the way from Australia.
